What could be a better way to keep an eye on San Diego than from an Eye Cab. Behind the cab is Bosa Development which sells some of the most luxurious condos.

T and T Cab - 989

The white roads on orange background which reads T & T - 999
Orange Colored minivan with the name T & T Cab 999. In the background is the Horton Grand Hotel which is painted blue.
Many cabs in San Diego are of this mini-van form factor. This is perfect for the transport of families or parties from the Airport to their hotel or vis versa. As this cab is waiting in front of the Horton Grand one can assume that it has probably been called to transport a party to the airport. The Horton Grand is a strange Frankenstein created by two old hotels and modern buildings. One feature that is especially strange about the hotel is that Island Ave., which is pictured here, is narrow as it is narrows further to a one lane narrow street.

I don't know what "T & T" could refer to. I suppose that refers to persons named T & T.

Capital Cab - 1223

Close up of cab name Capital and number 1223 the name and numbers are white on a blue background there is a thin golden bar at the top
A night time picture of Capital Cab 1223 the taxi is painted blue on the bottom and gold or yellow on the top Cost Plus of Downtown San Diego is in the background
Pictures taken 15 August 2009

This picture was taken near Cost Plus in downtown San Diego. Capital could mean capital as in Capital City, in the Simpsons or Kyoto Japan. But it could also refer to Capital in the sense of "Capital idea governor". Either way I am sure taking Capital Cab will upgrade the evening.

Old Town Cab - 43

A closeup on the name and number of Old Town Cab. Green background white writing
Old Town Cab 43 a green taxi with a yellow roof on top of a lift without tires.
Pictures taken 9 July 2009
As you can imagine taxi cabs require a lot of maintenance which is the responsibility of the owner of the cab. Whether the owner is maintaining the cab adequately is a common matter of dispute between the cab owner and taxi driver who leases the car. This car is named for one of San Diego's most popular tourist attractions Old Town.

Blank

A Yellow Taxi cab with no number, or name on door. Picture taken 30 April 2009

Normally taxis have a number and picturesque name written on the side of the cab. This cab though seems like a blank. I wonder if it is in service or not. I did not see anyone around it.

Arya 743

This is a picture of an Orange Cab with the word Araya on the door. Two bicyclist are seen in background.
This Orange Taxi has the name Arya.  Arya can refer to a Hindu, a Jain, or Buddhist, Sikh or Zoroastrian.  It could also refer to either and Indian or an Iranian.  It is the root word for Aryan which was wrongly used as a racial classification. In India Arya refers to someone who is both a freeman and a follower of one of the above mentioned religions.
