This is a picture of an Orange Cab with the word Araya on the door. Two bicyclist are seen in background.
This Orange Taxi has the name Arya.  Arya can refer to a Hindu, a Jain, or Buddhist, Sikh or Zoroastrian.  It could also refer to either and Indian or an Iranian.  It is the root word for Aryan which was wrongly used as a racial classification. In India Arya refers to someone who is both a freeman and a follower of one of the above mentioned religions.

Banna Cab 382

At first I thought that this cab was named Banana. It is amazing how our minds can play tricks on us, especially in a situation where the stimulus presented is unexpected. According to Wiktionary.org Banna is the Chickasaw word for to curse or forbid.  The idea of a forbidden or cursed cab sounds mysterious and romantic.

Banna could also refer to Hassan al-Banna, حسن البنا, who according to Wikipedia.org is the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood is an important but banned political organization in Egypt.  I imagine it could also be drivers name.
